Also online at: www.doorindustryjournal.co.uk MOVING FORWARD WITH S77 FAST ACTION The launch of the S77 Fast Action Insulated Steel Rolling Door is “long overdue” according to WM Shutters Director Damion Wilcox. With the in-house capability to manufacture 77mm insulated steel and aluminium profiles, we have had great success in the industrial door market already over the past four years, with the well established S77 Industrial Door Range. The addition of the Fast Action derivative is, in-part customer driven with many existing S77 customers demanding a high speed version for applications where a conventional high speed door has to be coupled with a conventional steel security shutter. S77 Fast Action design gives high speed operation and security within one product, saving time on site and being very cost effective for would be clients. Design of the new product with its in-line flag effect head plate configuration, allows quick and easy onsite layout and installation, as well as keeping the curtain central between the plates ensuring smooth trouble free operation at speed. Versatile S77 profile has been wind tested to class 5 at 7 metres. It has a “U” value of 1.37W/M 2 K and is available in a wide variety of hard wearing laminate finishes. Working in partnership with Guthrie Douglas the door has been developed using the Safe Drive FI range of motors and controls. Recognised as one of the best products on the market, features include slow start, slow stop and in-built safety brake technology. All Fast Action doors are factory set to 1.7 seconds per metre opening speed with capabilities to go faster with very easy on-site adjustments. Every door is supplied pre-wired with a fantastic choice of activation and safety devices to suit all applications. For added stability each head plate has an outboard mount precision bearing unit reducing stress on the motor and components at high speed. Standard specification includes brush seals to both sides of the guide channels with doors over 5 metres wide having wind lock guides and curtains. Deep rubber base seals come as standard and can incorporate a hard wired photo beam safety edge. A 50mm deep brush seal is also supplied to close the head of the doors.
