Garador has taken the design of the garage door one step further with the launch of its new range of “Design Doors”, which gives a whole new design choice for the outside appearance of properties. The range includes nine stylish designs of subtle circular and square shapes which are available on Garador’s “Design Range 100” - horizontal panels or “Design Range 200” - vertical panels. And, with a choice of eight colours, white, black, green, blue, steel blue, brown, red and titan metallic, the Garador Design Range offers something for everyone, and will compliment the exterior of any home. The Garador Design Range is manufactured in the UK to the highest standards of craftsmanship and with all their products Garador offers a superior guarantee of 10 years. MD Simon Hipgrave said; “Today’s homeowners really care about the appearance of their property and are able to choose from thousands of different designs for front doors, however, the garage door has been very traditional, until now. “The Garador Design Range will add personality, style and class to the exterior of their property to make them proud.” These designs complement the range of Garador’s “FrontGuard” front doors, which have been created as a matching set. Garador’s range of FrontGuard steel entrance doors come in many different designs, ranging from Classic designs to modern styles. The range has 13 different designs, all available in 12 colours and 3 foil coat finishes. In addition there is a range of matching side elements and transom lights available for all doors. Attention to detail has been paramount in the design of the FrontGuard range. For example, not only do the doors incorporate 46 mm thick solid PU insulation, the doorframe is designed as a multi chamber frame, which prevents thermal bridging and results in a door that keeps the heat in and the cold out. To further increase the thermal efficiency of these doors, they are all supplied with an isolated threshold and a brush seal and come with three dimensional adjustable hinges, which ensure the door sits ideally in the frame and the thermal seals are all used to an optimised level. Security was also high on Garador’s agenda when designing the range and the superior 12 point locking system has been engineered to ensure smooth operation and allows for the option of a Secured By Design specification on many of the doors. Simon explained: “With FrontGuard we are offering consumers a seriously energy efficient, attractive and secure door which has style and functionality. With the FrontGuard range we have stayed true to our promise of ensuring quality, beautifully designed products that are cleverly engineered, perform well and are available at the right price”. GARADOR INTRODUCES THE FIRST SECURED BY DESIGN UP AND OVER DOOR As home security continues to be a growing concern for home owners, specifiers and house builders are increasingly demanding products that are inherently secure. And the security of the garage and its contents is becoming as important to some homeowners as the rest of the house. Therefore Garador is extremely proud that it has become the first Up and Over Door manufacturer to become a member of “Secured by Design” (SBD), the official UK Police flagship initiative supporting the principles of ‘designing out crime’. Garador’s new Guardian Range of doors currently encompassing redesigned Carlton and Horizon doors which have undergone rigorous tests which are mandatory to assure that they really will stand up to the test that criminals may adopt in their attempts to break in to steal the garage contents or gain access to other parts of properties. Simon Hipgrave, MD, said: “We have always been proud of the strength and quality of our doors, but to be able to now also provide a door recognised with the “Secured by Design” accreditation is fantastic. This has not been gained over night; we have worked very closely with SBD and made a number of adaptations to our product, to ensure that these doors meet the very strict criteria.” Secured by Design focuses on the crime prevention of homes and commercial premises by designing out crime from the start by using appropriate products. The principles have been proven to achieve a reduction in crime of up to 60%, by combining minimum standards of physical security and well-tested principles of natural surveillance and defensible space. The membership scheme currently includes over 400 companies whose products have been awarded ‘Police Preferred Specification’ status across a broad range including; bicycle security, perimeter fencing, mobile phones, roofing products and secondary glazing. Licensed members of the Secured by Design scheme are entitled to use the Secured by Design logo and promote the term ‘Police Preferred Specification’ on products which have passed the tests specified by ACPO Secured by Design.
