JD (UK) Limited started life back in 2001, as the distributor for Jean Deprat, the French manufacturer of barrel, spring assemblies and an innovative type of autolocking system. This system has grown in popularity especially for use in roller garage doors and commercial galvanised shutters. 2004 was the year JD (UK) started to distribute components to companies who were interested in manufacturing their own roller garage doors or extruded window shutters. Starting with the basic components, lath, guide hood, end plates etc, this further developed into external manual overrides, tube motors, safety brakes, so that we are now able to provide all components for customers to manufacture their own aluminium roller shutters. In 2008 Alutech appointed JD (UK) as their sole distributor for the UK. Alutech assisted JD (UK) to develop the market for garage door companies that recognised the benefit in manufacturing their own roller garage doors, whether it be to save money, to keep control of quality or simply to have the facility to manufacture a product more quickly - there are so many reasons for wanting to manufacture yourself. Of course manufacturing is not for everybody, we therefore actively encourage those clients who express an interest in the Alutech product, that prefer not to manufacture, to talk with our team of roller door distributors, who manufacture insulated roller garage doors with genuine Alutech components. CE marking is a necessary requirement for all roller garage doors. To help our clients, Alutech have tested their products in accordance to the relevant EU standards. A full set of test documentation is available with a detailed technical construction file, which saves prospective customers starting from scratch. This process has been verified by an independent expert. During 2013 the Alutech Sectional garage door was launched, 45mm thick, with an insulation value for an installed door, to rival any other manufacturer (ask them what their U value is!). The door is now well received in the UK by both installers and distributors alike. In 2014 we launched the Alutech roller door computer cutting program. Designed to take the hassle out of working out the number and length of components required to fabricate a roller shutter. All you do is simply enter the shutter size and print of the cutting sheet. What next? • 2015 will see the launch of several new colours for roller door lath, Chartwell Green and Anthracite, as well as the popular ‘laminate’ option for wood effect colours to include Golden Oak and Rosewood (others are available to order). • Revamped guide roller entry system - designed to help the lath enter the guides with ease. • The popular ‘any colour for the price of white’ offer for sectional garage doors will continue - this applies to any RAL colour as well as our 14 standard colours - this can save up to 40% compared to other manufacturers. • The new ‘Alutech trend’ sectional door will be launched.
