Founded in Kettering in August 1974, Stanair supplies, installs and maintains industrial doors and shutters, dock loading systems and security products. The business was one of the first specialist industrial door repair companies in the UK, building a reputation for the quality of its products but also for its emphasis on customer service. Director Martin Wall says: “We know we have good products that are good quality and a range to fit all requirements. But what is more important is how well we live up to our customers’ expectations.” That is displayed in “little things”, such as Stanair’s commitment to response times that are well below the industry standards and its promise to secure or repair a door on an engineer’s first visit. “If we do not, the client does not pay a penny,” says Martin. Stanair Industrial Doors is known across the county for its commitment to giving back to the communities that have supported the firm over four decades. It was headline sponsor of last year’s Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards. It also supports the county’s Education and Pride in Northamptonshire Awards, has sponsored Northamptonshire County Cricket’s club mascot Steeler and has partnered with Northampton Saints rugby, Northampton Town FC and Peterborough Utd. Stanair also backs youth football teams, Kettering Lodge Bowling Club, local theatre and music groups. Stanair is prominent at the county’s business networking events and launched its short film reflecting on its first 40 years in business at the Business Excellence Awards. Andrew Grosvenor joins the Coventry-based firm in a technical support role, where he will work alongside technical manager Gary Davies and the Siegenia sales team to provide product testing and in-field support for a growing customer base. Andrew has over 30 years’ experience in the window and door industry, with manufacturing, sales and technical expertise and more than ten years working in window hardware. He says: “Siegenia has a very good reputation in the industry and is well known for its focus on technical advice and support. That’s what first attracted me to the company, and it’s great to be on board.” Siegenia general manager Alastair Wheeler says: “We’re winning new customers as a result of our technical backup and on the back of a successful 2014 we are in a position to invest further in the team to make sure we can maintain that support for our customers, both in-house and in the field. We have plans to introduce a number of new hardware products this year, and Andrew’s extensive experience in the sector will prove invaluable in supporting those product launches.” 19 THE door industry journal spring 2015 Photo: courtesy of Johnston Press plc Picture caption: Managing director David Wood, is pictured at the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards last year with guest of honour Simon Weston OBE.
