Designed as 2 halves rather than a solid ring, it makes initial installation easier as the rings can be inserted at any point along the barrel and simply snapped together, and if they need moving they can be prised apart, moved and snapped back together. In addition, should an existing ring break, it is really easy to replace using the snap on system, gone are the days of removing the barrel to take off the old autolocks, simply snap them directly on to the barrel. The inherent issue with autolock rings is that they mark the inside of the top few laths of the roller door curtain. The snap on system will virtually eliminate this issue. Being manufactured from a ‘softer’ compound, the edges of the ring flex when they come into contact with the concave side of the insulated lath, greatly reducing the potential for marking - who said you couldn’t reinvent the wheel! To complement the new ring, Alutech have altered the plastic composition of the autolock segment to be ‘softer’ to further reduce the damage caused by traditional autolocks on the top lath. If your current roller door manufacturer doesn’t offer this type of autolock or ring, it may be worth taking to us and we’ll point you in the direction of one who does.
