Door Industry Journal - Spring 2015
Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk Garage and entrance door specialist Hörmann unveiled the latest updates to its popular door ranges, alongside a host of new domestic products, at the BAU exhibition in Munich this January. With such a wide range of items on display, the manufacturer opted for its biggest stand yet at the trade show, covering an impressive 1,400m 2 in total. The popular 800 style is now back for the manufacturer’s ThermoPro Plus range of insulated steel entrance doors, accompanied by the complementary 810 design. With square glazing panels and steel frames, the two styles are perfect for creating a sleek, contemporary look. Comfort locks, which allow the homeowner to open a multi-point locking system with just the touch of a handset, and keyless entry via an electronic transponder, have also been added to the extensive selection of options for the ThermoPro Plus door. In addition, Hörmann is also introducing two new designs for its ThermoPro range, offering stainless steel-effect striped inlays with an optional double-glazed infill. The ThermoSafe door has been updated with six new styles, as well as an outwards opening version of the highly insulated aluminium door. For added security, a new finger-scan, integrated into the door handle, will also be available later in 2015. Hörmann has also brought a fresh look to its sectional garage doors, with new double and triple-ribbed styles. The T-ribbed version is also available with timber or stainless style- effect inlays, making these new doors a smart alternative to traditional sectional designs. Following the successful launch of Hörmann’s BiSecur app for operating automatic garage and entrance doors and gates, the company has extended its range of secure, radio-controlled mechanisms, offering a selection of push button switches, as well as a BiSecur socket. Using the accompanying app, homeowners will be able to turn lights on for security when out of the house, or check whether they have left a light or a plug socket switched on, from virtually anywhere. Another key addition to Hörmann’s range to be introduced in 2015 is the PortaMatic internal door operator. Ideal for use in mobility-adapted homes, the PortaMatic enables users to open and close internal doors with just the touch of a button. Flexible settings mean the PortaMatic can be set to automatic, semi-automatic or manual as required. For added safety, an acoustic signal and LED illuminations can be set to warn occupants when a door is in operation or is about to open or close. The PortaMatic can be retrofitted to suitable door frames, making it an easy addition for anyone looking to adapt their home. Other new additions set to be launched this year include the VersaMatic, a flexible entrance gate operator that can be fitted in three different positions; the NT 60 side door to match sectional and RollMatic garage doors, and extra large ThermoSafe and ThermoCarbon doors for openings of up to 3m.
