How do you reach out to customers with useful tips and advice on how to sell more of your products? Employ a large sales force is one option, but that’s a cost that will have to be passed on to customers somewhere down the line... ...or... ...start your own TV channel! It might sound crazy but that’s just what Teckentrup UK Limited has done with the launch of Teckentrup TV. The new online TV channel, www.teckentrup.tv, hosts short videos aimed at helping its garage door specialist customers highlight the features of Teckentrup’s Carteck sectional garage doors to their customers. The first edition aired in January and caused quite a stir with customers. “I got plenty of ribbing for my “acting” ability” commented Jim Rodger, Teckentrup UK’s Managing Director and TTV presenter. He went on: “... but one of our customers used the video with a home owner in his showroom and closed a sale - RESULT! It’s a great way of keeping all the great features of or products right in front of customers.” Teckentrup’s first foray into video was back in 2010, with a rather shaky film and muffled sound of Jim expounding the virtues of the strength of their doors whilst jumping up and down on a panel. The idea resurfaced in its new form in January of this year with an new edition every two weeks. Not quite you nightly soap, but often enough not to overwhelm is the idea. NEW GSW-40M SECTIONAL GARAGE DOOR LAUNCHED THROUGH TECKENTRUP TV The channel provided the ideal platform for the launch of Teckentrup’s GSW-40M garage door and operator bundle. The video shows Jim sitting atop a crated door highlighting the 20% saving the door offers and its ex-stock availability in popular sizes. “The GSW-40M crated door is a new concept for us - its the same great door our customers are used to, just crated and bundled with an opener, but, and it’s a big but, the door price is 20% below our normal list price. The online TV channel has been the perfect platform to reach our customers with a fantastic new offer” concluded Jim. Jim has retired to his trailer in readiness for the hours of makeup time needed to make him fit for his next appearance.
