CONDEMNING AN UNSAFE ROLLER SHUTTER PROVES TO BE GOOD FOR BUSINESS Amo Security recently attended a site in Leeds, West Yorkshire to carry out the planned servicing on several roller shutters they had installed some time ago. While at the site they were also asked to inspect a large industrial door to the warehouse, that was not only old, but had not been serviced for several years. Upon inspection, it quickly became apparent that the warehouse door was unsafe for use and the engineers immediately condemned the door, advising the client that the door was not to be used because it presented a great risk to life, safety and property. Amo Security quoted for the installation of a new industrial door that included an un-sprung direct drive motor in favour of the original spring balanced flange motor. To avoid disruption to the clients’ business activity, the quote was accepted promptly to enable the manufacture and installation of a new door to be carried out quickly. Andrew Crookes, Managing Director of Amo Security commented: “This is the exact reason all doors and roller shutters should have planned maintenance carried out by a trustworthy and reliable company. I am glad we were asked to carry out the servicing, as if the door had been continued to be used I dread to think what the end result may have been” Amo Security, part of AMO Group was established in 1989 and since then have been manufacturing, supplying and installing all types of Roller Shutters, Steel Doors, Security Grilles, Shop & Garden Awnings as well as Garage Doors to commercial, industrial and domestic clients nationwide.
