The door’s packaging has been revamped following feedback from the company’s network of approved dealers and now features individually wrapped components that can be separated out for easy transit. Cardboard sheeting keeps the curtain protected, while specially designed polystyrene casings help to ensure the various parts sit safely in the back of a vehicle. No extra space is required for delivery, however, as the product is still shipped as one palletised package. David Newcombe, managing director at Hörmann (UK) Ltd., commented: “The RollMatic is one of our most popular products, so it’s important that it’s practical for both our customers and for installers. The new packaging is great news for our dealer network, as it means they don’t have to worry about parts getting damaged in transit if they need to take items off the pallet.” Hörmann has also made several updates to the product itself. To aid installation further, the separate fitting compensation set has now been integrated into the updated guide rail, but remains available as an optional extra. This component makes the door particularly suited to renovations or fittings on timber structures. The width of the guide rails has been extended from 100mm to 110mm, covering the screws of the wind locks adjacent to the rails and improving the overall appearance. In addition to the previously used brush strip, the guide rails also now benefit from one further brush seal per rail, contributing to a class two driving rain tightness status. A design change to the barrel casing, which is now connected by a hinge, allows for easier access to the curtain during maintenance and simplifies installation. David added: “After taking on feedback from our dealers and maintenance team we also felt that some changes could be made that would benefit the door’s design and durability. The new RollMatic design still benefits from precision engineering and the latest technology, as well as its original intelligent design features, ensuring that it remains a safe, reliable and space-saving option for homeowners.” A wide selection of finishes and colours, along with matching frames and fascia are still available for the RollMatic. The updated brochure, fitting data and instructions, order forms and spare parts list are now available from Hörmann’s website.
