MOVING OFFICE AND WAREHOUSE CUTS SHORT CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS FOR THE JD (UK) TEAM Whilst most people were enjoying their Christmas dinner left overs the JD (UK) Ltd team were on hand to assist in the considerable task of moving their entire office and warehouse to their new home in Ravensthorpe near Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. The 29,000 sq. ft. warehouse represents the next step in the company’s evolution and is part of the overall business strategy for 2016 and beyond. With the outstanding success of their 40mm insulated Trend series sectional garage door during 2014 & 2015, it soon became clear a new home would be essential to drive the business forward. “We are now able to receive several artic loads of product every day if required” said Sean Martin, Resource and Operations manager at JD (UK) “this obviously allows us far greater scope to meet more orders, more quickly and maintain our response level for our loyal customers” . Specialising in Alutech sectional garage doors and one of the largest stocks of off-the-shelf roller door components anywhere in the UK, JD (UK) are fast becoming one of the door industry’s leading distributors. Their unique business model brings a breath of fresh air to the market. Internal Sales and Marketing manager Louis Wynne explained “Customer satisfaction is our first priority, along with expansion and growth we are always focused on improving the service we offer. Customers consistently tell us that fast deliveries, good stock levels and flexibility are high on their priority lists. With our new home we are able to offer even better service in all of these areas.” Part of the relocation will be the development of one of the largest garage door showrooms in the UK, with market leading facilities set to be made available to JD (UK)’s network of dealers. Plans for 2016 include an increasing focus on product training and technical support for our partners, ensuring all manufacturers and dealers have all the resources required to keep their products compliant, safe and reliable. The new showroom and training facilities will also provide a fantastic resource for sales and marketing allowing the company to showcase a product range which has got everybody in the industry talking. As part of their ongoing commitment to product development and sales support JD (UK) are also expanding their team with several new additions for 2016. The new sales office at Ravensthorpe has just as much capacity for expansion as the warehouse downstairs and with sales continuing to grow it is likely new faces may be joining on a more regular basis. Bringing together the right mix of skills and experience from in and outside the door industry and providing the team first class facilities is really just the first step.
