Secured by Design is the official flagship initiative from the Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (Police-CPI), which supports the principle of ‘designing out crime’ through security-focused products. All AlluGuard 77 Roller Doors carry the SBD and ‘Police Preferred Specification’ logos, in recognition of the security afforded by its design and manufacture. SBD-accredited products have to undergo rigorous independent testing that measures them against published technical standards to ensure they are made to the highest specification in terms of security and their ability to withstand criminal attack. The installation of SBD products has been shown to have a significant effect on crime levels. In a study conducted on two Nottingham housing estates, burglaries at houses fitted with SBD windows and doors fell by 42%, compared to a city- wide reduction of 21% over the same period. The properties in question also experienced 62 fewer burglaries per year after the work was completed. “It’s clear that SBD-accredited products make a real difference to people’s lives, so we’re very proud to have been associated with the scheme for so long,” says AlluGuard MD Gary Brooks. “It means that we have to meet rigorous standards in regards design and manufacture, but that’s a small price to pay for a product that offers such a fantastic level of protection.” To find out more about AlluGuard garage doors call 0845 3665831 or email info@alluguard.co.uk www.alluguard.co.uk WOODRITE PUTS A MATCH TO TIMBER Consumers choose timber garage doors because they love the natural beauty and grain of finished wood or the quality of the design and detailing when painted. Matching the garage door to other finishes; the front door, windows, guttering or painted bargeboards is often a requirement and it’s something that’s second nature to Woodrite Doors. Whether it’s a paint colour from the farrow & Ball range or a particular wood shade, all they need is the details and the match can be made. Sharon Cleaver, Woodrite’s National Sales Director commented, “Our stain partners Teknos are expert in matching both paint and stain colours”. Sharon added, “Paint colours are straightforward, however timber woodstains require a little more effort as we’re often asked to match the colour of a door made in cedar to another timber type such as mahogany. We produce a sample for approval to ensure the customer is happy with the colour before making the door, it works well and ensures customer expectations are always met.” Contact Sharon Cleaver at Woodrite on 01280 841010 for your next matched colour! The resultant increase in the number of springs on some doors improves the action and adjustability of the lifting gear and is particularly beneficial on larger doors”, commented Sharon Cleaver, Woodrite’s National Sales Director.
