This is to cope with the expanded size of the show, which will be 60% bigger than last year’s event and will fill three of the NEC’s vast halls. More than 200 of the UK’s leading brands will be showing hundreds of new windows, doors, conservatories and orangeries. Highlights include the latest product launches from Barrier Components – the leading architectural hardware supplier. The new selection of components includes standard spigots in 316 stainless steel, Tilt-Loc spigots (2205 stainless steel), pre-assembled posts, Mega Grip 3kN balustrade, glass rail capping, Juliet balcony kits and 316 stainless swimming pool hinges and locks. Alongside these, there will be a range of frameless glass seals, Vistafold 120 and Patioslide 100 and 200 folding and sliding door kits, and three new straight sliding door hardware sets for framed and frameless glass doors. You can read more about Barrier Components further on the opposite page. New products are also being launched by aluminium specialist Alutech Systems, which is presenting a new bifolding door, lift and slide patio door and an outward opening casement window. The bifold door in particular is expected to catch the eye of visitors, as it represents unusually good value for money and provides a market-leading door leaf size of up to 1200 wide x 3000 high. Discover more on page 8. In addition, the parent company of Alutech Systems - JD (UK) Ltd – will be exhibiting, with several new and innovative products on display – many for the first time in the UK. These include new roller garage doors that introduce something genuinely new to the market, as well as sectional doors that are both easy to install and excellent value for money. You can learn more overleaf. Also at the show will be Alpro Architectural Hardware (a division of IEC Ltd) - the independent supplier of both mechanical and electro-mechanical products in the UK commercial aluminium OEM marketplace and access control environment. The firm’s mission this year is to educate visitors about the new European standards and the recently introduced CE marking requirements, showing the difference between what people think is required and what is actually required. A prize draw is also taking place at the Alpro stand - just leave your business card or details at stand CAB16 before noon on the Thursday. You can read more about Alpro on page 9. Another major name at the NEC this year is Yale, which will be providing expert insight as part of the show’s seminar programme. Yale’s Head of Integration – Tabitha Morton – will explore how the trend for smart homes is increasing consumer demand for smart security products, and how fabricators and installers can benefit from this. Called ‘Future Trends in Home Automation’ , the seminar will take place on the Thursday at 2:30pm. Find out more on page 9.
