Upon taking up the role, Steven said he was thrilled to be joining the Somfy family in the role of Managing Director for UK & Ireland, and he hoped to bring with him some experience and skills that can be used to drive profitable growth in the United Kingdom & Ireland. Steven will be based at Somfy’s UK headquarters in Yeadon, Leeds. Commenting on his appointment Steven said: “On my way to reaching Somfy, I have had a career largely centred around the sales functions of businesses. I started out in telephone sales in Ironmongery & security soon progressing into external field sales. After a variety of Sales roles in the construction industry, I took a side step to join Apple which started my passion for technology and Smart Home Solutions. “Choosing to go back into construction sales, I began to explore the link between both Smart Home and construction products partnering with various companies in the connected home and connected security category. This led to business development roles and forming sales strategies for the businesses in which I worked. I’m looking forward to bringing all of this into the Somfy world! “I am married to my beautiful wife, Jilly, and have two wonderful children, Hunter (7) and Winter (5). I have a few things I really enjoy outside of work. I love to do school work with my kids. I also love music, I have a home recording studio and also like to do a little film editing.
