It has been a very busy twelve months at AlluGuard, the leading garage door and smart home solution specialist, with sales increasing and innovative new products being added to its range. Here’s more about what’s been going on up at AlluGuard HQ in Yorkshire: AlluGuard adds Connexoon to its smart home range AlluGuard has been enjoying increased sales of its smart home solutions product – the Tahoma Home Hub. This allows consumers to control their garage door - as well as curtains, blinds, heating, electrical equipment and more - through a smartphone or tablet. In addition, to increase the choice and capability of its smart home offering, AlluGuard recently added Connexoon to the range - a device that also provides smart control of garage doors gates and lighting, but has fewer functions than the Tahoma and so offers the perfect introduction to smart home technology. Connexoon also boasts a special geolocation feature, which can automatically start certain functions with just the click of a smartphone. For example, it can be set so that garage doors and lights will go on as soon as you are near your home, so everything is ready for you when you enter your driveway. AlluGuard announces the UK’s most secure roller garage door AlluGuard recently added a super-strong roller garage door - the Qompact - to its range. The product was recently put through its paces at the Elements independent test centre, where it successfully achieved accreditation to STS 202 BR2 level. The extraordinary strength of the Qompact is derived from its extruded aluminium captive slat design, which is many times stronger than typical roll formed slats. The product can also be used to shield vulnerable patio or French doors and is so strong that it’s a popular protective measure for properties in America’s hurricane belt. The Qompact is also accredited by Secured by Design (SBD) - the police-backed scheme that supports the principle of ‘designing out crime’ through security-focused products. In addition, it has a very small roll size - just 165mm for doors up to 2500mm high – and integrates easily with smart home technology. “We believe that Qompact is the UK’s first and only garage door to receive this higher level security rating, which makes it the most secure roller garage door currently available in the UK,” says AlluGuard Managing Director Gary Brooks. Beating the sun with SolidScreen A new product in the AlluGuard range is giving customers control over the sun’s rays through an adaptable textile screen. Called SolidScreen, the product keeps rooms nice and cool and lets in natural light, whilst reducing direct sunlight entering by up to 90%. This cuts out glare and protects carpets and other fabrics from damaging UV rays. Solid Screen can be fitted externally - it is fully weather protective and has been wind tested up to 145km/h - or internally, and is powered by Somfy automation technology, so is fully compatible with smart home solutions. Also, the compact housing requires just 105mm for screens up to 3m x 3m, whilst large windows up to 15m 2 are possible thanks to zip guide technology that ensures the screen is securely held and cannot distort.
