Westland Engineers Limited, a separate entity, produced garage doors and some of its very early garage doors were commonly referred to as “WEL” doors, an abbreviation of the company name. A lot has changed in the 70 years since Westland Engineers Limited produced its first up & over garage door, but one of the most memorable elements for installers, surveyors and salesmen throughout the garage door industry, has been the training courses Garador offer. These days the company runs two types of course: one for training garage door installers and another on product training for sales staff, both of which have given the people that attend a real boost, with improved knowledge and understanding about Garador garage doors. Chris Hart, a skilled garage door installer, attended a Garador installer course in 1986 and has since gone on to become a Garador Area Sales Manager. Chris comments: “When I was getting started fitting garage doors, I was doing a mixture of repairs and installing new doors. Garador was the biggest player in the market at that time by miles, but there were aspects of the products that weren’t always easy to figure out.” Chris continues: “When I heard about the Garador training Delegates on the classroom part of the installer course. Delegates on the course taking a tour around the Garador factory.
