Ltd, the West Midlands- based roller shutter door specialist, is proving increasingly popular with UK customers. The IO Fire Resistant Rolling Shutters are designed for any application where it’s vital to prevent fire spreading. They are able to limit damage to particular areas and - most importantly - save lives. The IO shutters are constructed from heavier materials than a standard roller shutter, with more fixings in the structure and slotted holes where required, to allow for expansion should the door be exposed to a fire. There are two shutters in the range – the Pyroguard and the Pyroshield. The Pyroguard is best-suited to locations where the door has to be aesthetically pleasing, such as bars, serveries and canteens, thanks to its sympathetic design. The shutter is driven via a single-phase 240v tubular motor, which requires a maintained supply, however, a battery back-up unit is recommended – so, in the event of a power failure, the door can be operated at least once under fire conditions. The Pyroshield industrial fire shutters are best suited to environments where they are operated regularly - such as loading bays, warehouses and factory units. The shutter is supplied with a single (240v, 50hz) or 3 phase (415v, 50hz) dedicated fire drive motor and can be manufactured to a maximum size of 7000mm wide x 7000mm high. It features a canopy hood as standard, whilst support brackets can also be supplied - depending on fire rating, size and weight. Both shutters have been fire tested in a UKAS accredited testing laboratory in accordance with BS EN 1634-1 and are fire-resistant for up to four hours. A variety of release mechanisms can be supplied, to enable the shutters to close automatically. They also feature an optional audio and visual warning panel, which activates when it receives a fire alarm signal and closes the shutter after a pre-determined delay. “As a supplier of roller doors exclusively to the trade, it’s imperative we offer our customers a one-stop shop for all their roller shutter requirements”, says Simon Perks, General Manager at Priory. “With a surge in demand for fire rated roller shutters, even companies who manufacture their own traditional roller shutters can look to us for a fully compliant fire tested door, with all the virtues of quality and affordability associated with Priory”.
