Lisa Nightingale, head of door and window sales at HOPPE (UK), said: “After attending CAB’s regional members meeting, we’re excited to explore how we can work more closely with the aluminium industry. “We don’t want to just be a member on a list, we want to be actively involved to help the industry progress. In addition to welcoming a new Human Resources Manager, SWS UK have also appointed longstanding Manager Martin Fletcher as the company’s Commercial Director. Martin Fletcher Many of SWS UK’s customers will be familiar with Martin Fletcher who has worked for SWS UK for 16 years, including a decade on the Senior Management Team. With experience across a variety of departments including Procurement and Logistics, Martin has spent the last 3 years as Operations Manager. With Martin playing a fundamental role in SWS UK’s commercial activity since the summer they are delighted to announce that he officially accepted the role of Commercial Director in November. As Commercial Director, Martin will be responsible for further developing the products and services they provide their customers. A commercial insight paired with his knowledge of the industry makes Martin the ideal person to adapt SWS UK to the changing market, whilst aligning the future of their business with that our of customers. “I’m really looking forward to getting out in the market and getting to know our customers and their businesses better. I will be spending time finding out what is important to them and how we can support them in continuing to improve and grow. Helen Tappenden Helen joined SWS UK in February of this year, taking on the role of Human Resources Manager. With experience in a diverse range of industries, including personal and business banking and operations management, Helen discovered a passion for people and all things HR and quickly progressed from purely operational HR to management and more strategic roles. In addition to overseeing the recruitment of staff, Helen’s role at SWS UK will include the implementation of staff training and development procedures as well as ensuring the safety and welfare of employees whilst they are at work. Continually putting people at the heart of what they do, SWS has offered Helen a seat at the senior management table – a move that will create an even more productive team that pulls in the right direction across all areas of the business. Commenting on her experience at SWS so far, Helen told us, “no two days are the same… and I love it! I’ve become part of the team really quickly and although I still have so much to get to grips with, I feel settled. I’m hungry to learn and pleased that others in the organisation seem to be of a similar mindset. I felt at home with the organisation from the first interview and SWS clearly strives to deal with its staff as well as it does its customers – they’re the nice guys of the industry!”
