Known as SeceuroSchool, each specialist event covers topics such as legislation, product specification, surveying, installation and fault-diagnostics and are presented by SWS’ technical expert John Duffy who has over 20 years’ experience with the company. Ideal for distributors who have employed new installers or sales personnel, or even just as a refresher for existing staff, SeceuroSchool also provides the perfect platform for SWS UK to discuss new industry legislation or product updates and developments. In January SWS held three SeceuroSchool events for SeceuroGlide Sectional garage doors and SeceuroFire fire protection products, however in a bid to make them even more accessible the events were held at their industrial motor supplier GFA’s head office. This new, Warrington based venue offered a central location with excellent facilities, ideal for conducting the company’s hands-on seminars. The larger space also allows for greater attendance, and testament to the school’s popularity each event was almost filled to capacity. Technical & Training Manager, John Duffy, commented: “With such a comprehensive range of products, we appreciate the value of product training. Our SeceuroSchools were created to provide technical training for our distributors and installers, whilst also providing us with a platform to present new product innovations or legislation. “Introducing a new, centrally-located venue has enabled distributors to attend, who would otherwise find it difficult. We are thrilled with the attendance we received in January and with the feedback we received after the events.” Future SeceuroSchool Dates If you’d like to attend SeceuroSchool, contact SWS UK’s Marketing department who will be happy to provide you with details marketing@swsuk.co.uk SWS UK Celebrates 35 Years in Business As well as leading us into a brand-new decade, 2020 is a milestone year for SWS UK as it sees them mark 35 years in British manufacturing - something they’ve admitted to being incredibly proud of as a business. Established in 1985 by former Managing Director Andrew Dootson, and with just a small handful of employees SWS UK’s existence began all those years ago out of Andrew’s garage! Andrew quickly grew the business from its humble beginnings, leading them through an impressive succession of innovations and industry firsts, including the introduction of the award-winning SeceuroBar and the launch of SeceuroGlide, the first insulated garage door for specialists in the UK. With the business going from strength to strength, it over time necessitated a couple of moves to larger premises, before settling at their current purpose-built site in Lancaster in 2000. In more recent years, under the leadership of new Managing Director Kevin Lindeque and the support of their parent company Stella Group, they have retained their position as market leader and with a current workforce of over 100 employees they continue to thrive within the industry. In addition to developing entire product ranges SeceuroFire and SeceuroDoor, they have further developed their flagship brands SeceuroShield and SeceuroGlide, ensuring they remain at the forefront of design and technology. They’re not done yet! With some exciting plans in the pipeline, the company’s 35th year is not going to be a quiet one. Watch this space to find out what else they have in store, and to keep up with their birthday celebrations.
