The survey of installers found that 81% believed the market for new installations is still growing, with 63% of responders reporting that the automation element of their business was either ‘busy’ or ‘very busy’ in 2023. BFT is a leading manufacturer of automation technology that controls access for people and vehicles in a range of environments. The company surveyed installers who fit BFT products, including swing and sliding gate operators, automatic barriers and security bollards. Matthew Batson, Sales Operations Director at BFT said: “Despite the ongoing impact of the cost-of-living crisis, installers continue to experience a strong demand for their services. This latest sign of optimism is a testament to the ongoing need for automation solutions – whether that’s in a commercial, public or residential setting.” “While the need for home security solutions such as automated gates was particularly strong during the pandemic, there remains a demand for solutions that provide added security for the home, while the upcoming Protect Duty legislation is likely to drive further requirement for options such as security bollards in publicly accessible venues.” BFT Automation is part of the Somfy group.
