The concept of “saving a door” with replacement locks and furniture has mass market appeal, offering the opportunity to affordably replace or upgrade worn or broken door furniture and lock sets. The stylish replacement handles are simple to fit and are suitable for PVCu, composite and wooden doors, with a complete range including Standard Security long and short backplate handles, Universal adjustable handles and Maximum Security handles. All handles are designed for use with 92mm lock centres, and cover the most popular fixing points making this ideal for retrofitting. Standard Security handles are available in short backplate (122mm fixing lug centres) and long backplate (215mm fixing lug centres), and have been tested in accordance with BS EN 1906:2002 and BS EN 1670:2007 for performance and durability. The Universal handle features adjustable fixing points, covering 95% of the doorsets with 92mm lock centres on the market, radically reducing the need for time-consuming door preparation on site. Finally, the Maximum Security handle has been developed for use in conjunction with Yale British Standard euro cylinders to meet PAS 24 requirements. The Maximum Security handle offers a built in cylinder guard and solid machined backplate to provide extra protection against handle and cylinder manipulation or attack. At the same time, strong steel lugs and stainless steel M6 screws ensure the handle resists attack for longer. Together with the Doormaster™ replacement multipoint locks, this handle range offers locksmiths the chance to provide a genuine one call, one repair solution for homeowners. Says Hazel Whittingham, Yale Product Manager: “Yale wants to help locksmiths become more sales savvy. By ‘saving the door’, the Doormaster ™ range creates opportunities to sell other replacement products, to instantly improve the security and appearance of an existing door. “The Security Handle offers protection for homeowners against handle and cylinder attack, and together with the Standard and Universal replacement handles are durable and quick and easy to install. Plus, locksmiths can benefit from offering these products from a brand that homeowners will both recognise and trust.” Spindles and fixing screws are supplied with all handles to accommodate different door widths, and the handles are available in a choice of durable finishes.
