The Sunray ExcluLouvre ® is a unique LPCB security rated stackable louvre system that has just received full SR3 security accreditation to LPS 1175 issue 7. Developed to harmonise with Sunray’s existing ‘stackable’ and ‘hinged louvre door systems’, it provides a high level of aesthetic quality combined with important security features and is destined to be a popular and affordable choice with security conscious customers. Designed for easy installation, it is suitable for any size of square structural opening up to 5 metres in height, without compromising the SR3 security level. The modular sections, each up to 2.5 metres wide, can also be fixed together to provide an infinite width. Combining the strength of a fully welded solution, the ExcluLouvre ® incorporates a unique interlocking anchor system and has virtually no visible horizontal joins. It importantly provides up to 42 percent free air flow, subject to the blanking requirements and additional features include anti-vermin mesh at the rear, a front face fixed top panel and optional flange detail. A matching ExcluLouvre ® Door completes the solution and this can be specified in both single and double door formats providing a maximum opening of up to 2.4 x 2.4 metres. Constructed from the same blade profiles as the ExcluLouvre ® it allows clients to harmonise the aesthetics of the system to provide visual integrity to the surroundings of the installation. Key additional features on the ExcluLouvre ® Door include three point locking and hooked security dog bolts. It is also fitted with a padlockable hasp and staple to the front face. “Design and appearance are important for a growing number of security solutions as they are increasingly being used in public areas,” stated David Evans MD at Sunray. “It is no longer acceptable just to have a functional solution, it has to deliver the appropriate level of security but still look good.” “Last year we launched our ExcluDoors ® , certified to SR3, SR4, SR5 and SR6, with the option to include ExcluGlass ® vision panels and ExcluVent ® ventilation panels. The new security rated ExcluLouvre ® System and ExcluLouvre ® Door further extend these ranges. This increased choice means our customers can select with confidence a product that exactly meets their particular demands. All our products feature high quality metalwork, locks, furniture and fixtures as standard and can be specified in our usual wide range of colours - which is why Sunray is increasingly being selected as the supplier of choice for bespoke security doors and other security solutions.” For more information on the ExcluLouvre ® and ExcluLouvre ® Door ranges or the wider range of security doors, commercial doors, industrial doors and louvre systems available from Sunray Engineering go to www.sunraydoors.co.uk or call +44 (0) 1233 639039. HÖRMANN LIGHT GRILLE WINS DESIGN 4 SAFETY AWARD The Hörmann Light Grille has won the Goods-in, Goods-out Design 4 Safety award. Created to highlight the importance of product design in improving safety standards, the Design 4 Safety awards are chosen by a specialist panel of industry experts. Three products were shortlisted in each category, with Hörmann capturing two nominations with the Light Grille and the HFB Forklift barrier. One of a number of safety devices and innovations pioneered by Hörmann, the Light Grille makes a significant contribution to the safe operation of high-speed doors. This device exceeds the requirements of BS EN 13241-1 and virtually eliminates the risk of harm to pedestrians from fast action doors. This non-contact safety device is incorporated into the door frame, taking away the risk of safety being compromised by impact damage. The solid state device uses an array of light beams to constantly monitor the door opening to a height of 2.5 metres and will simply stop the door if any are broken. This offers a number of safety benefits. There is no need for a rigid or battery powered safety edge, which allows Hörmann to fit its patented SoftEdge and also means the door can operate quicker and react faster to any potential impact. With no moving parts, only limited maintenance is needed to ensure a long reliable service life.
