Fort Doors is now one year old, and growing into a well respected and helpful business. Fort has been a real British success story both in terms of impact on the market and investment in local youth. “Starting up in a recession was never going to be easy” said Matthew Berry “but we have hit the market hard, and made an impression in two areas. It was always going to be difficult breaking into the 7066 market, so we initially concentrated on our USPs and doing the doors that others didn’t want to” Fort has become synonymous with saying YES. So this year has seen the smallest one- piece door on record being manufactured and installed. A 5’6” x 5’8” door was requested by Wakefield garage doors. Not only did he want it at a ridiculously small size he wanted in Golden Oak. So we now offer one-piece doors from 5’6” x 5’8” wide. But, that is not the smallest door which Fort has manufactured this year. Aside from personnel doors Fort have also been asked to fill a 5’ hole but the customer wanted a traditional side hinged door. No problem for the UK’s newest and most innovative garage door manufacturer. So if you need an under sized door Fort is the place to go. “However, building made-to-measure doors and Fort’s 50mm frame has allowed us a way of getting new business” added Matthew Berry; “Because we are prepared to be flexible, lots of businesses are coming back to us to buy standard doors. Due to the 50mm frame, many people are stocking our doors knowing that they can fit them in more applications then a standard 70mm frame” Fort have also invested in a powder coating facility which has allowed a wide range of standard colours, with more to come and a number of bizarre colours have been requested which were provided with gusto. One of Fort’s biggest successes has been the introduction of its side-hinged doors. With 4 point locking as standard, and 2/3rds - 1/3rd split up to 9’ wide and 50-50 split up to 12’ wide, Fort again gives your customer what they want, and Fort find a way of doing it. In conclusion Matthew Berry said: “Another important role Fort has played is in the employment of local people giving a real boost to the British economy. We have had a very low turnover of staff, and we are always at looking at ways of maximising staff skills so they grow with us as a business. “So come and join Fort’s first birthday celebration. We can’t offer any balloons, but we will certainly have some birthday offers, and did someone mention cake? “ For more information about the services Fort Doors can offer, call Matthew Berry on 07900 943 262, or order a birthday door by emailing orders@fortdoors.co.uk . THE ICE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: FIRST GOAL SCORED BY ALUTECH Recently, the whole world watched the ice battles of the 78th IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship which was held in Minsk (Belarus). The Group A Games were held in the Chizhovka-Arena which is a modern complex. Its basic structure resembles two shining drops of water. This innovative structure is built using many cutting-edge materials, including aluminium profile systems from ALUTECH that ensure meeting the required high performance in heat and sound insulation as well as to realise the creative concept of the architects’ design. The complex Chizhovka- Arena was built on the shore of the Chizhovsky reservoir and harmoniously fits into the landscape, continuing the theme of water, air and light. The main construction materials are aluminium and glass which helped to realize the creative idea of the architects. Specially devoted to the Ice Hockey World Championship, a brand new hotel was built by the world famous network Renaissance, their first in Belarus; the hotel features a ventilated facade-based ALUTECH ALT150 system. During major sporting events six hockey teams from Canada, Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Norway and Denmark stayed in the hotel. In Alutech’s huge portfolio there are many other sporting facilities including buildings for the Winter Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi. As a rule, the construction of such buildings has to meet the strictest requirements including terms and conditions of supply for products. For these reasons construction companies choose ALUTECH because it occupies a stable position in the market, producing high quality products and delivering them in the shortest possible time. In addition to sports facilities, ALUTECH systems are in demand for facades on office buildings, shopping and business centres, tourist complexes and residential buildings in regions with different climatic conditions. Another activity of the Company is roller shutter and sectional doors systems in which ALUTECH occupies a leading position in Central Europe. Today ALUTECH roller shutters have been installed on millions of private, civil and industrial projects from Australia to Canada – and in more than 40 countries throughout the world. Sectional doors are being used in hundreds of thousands of private garages and industrial buildings, many having to endure hard conditions such as coastal conditions and the Far North. © Andyyick | Dreamstime.com
