KCC EXCELLENCE & HEALTH AWARD KCC Architectural is very excited to announce that they, along with the Architectural Practice Duggan Morris, received awards for 2 of the 9 categories at the recent Schueco Excellence Awards for Design & Innovation presented on the 19th June 2014 in London. The awards are hosted by Schueco UK in conjunction with the journal for the Royal Institute of British Architects. These awards have been established to recognise the use of innovative product and design, fabrication and installation, as well as increase knowledge of projects within the industry. Representing KCC Architectural, David Skelly was presented with the award for Health and the overall Schueco Award for Excellence for ORTUS, the South London & Maudsley Learning Centre in Camberwell, South London. For this project KCC manufactured and supplied 120 structurally bonded stepped edge double glazed steel frame windows using the Schuco Jansen System. This combined the modern innovative use of this system throughout its structure while complementing the existing historical characteristics of surrounding buildings. This was accomplished by the use of full height windows and brick panelling thus providing a modern slant on the surrounding Georgian window reveals and stucco bands.
