The site makes detailed information on its comprehensive range of roller garage, aluminium, steel, fire and Secured by Design LPCB approved products easily accessible to visitors on tablets and smartphones, as well as traditional PCs. The design of the new website was informed by comprehensive industry research and detailed conversations with existing trade customers. It is the first phase of a digital strategy to provide a central information hub for the trade. Research conducted by Aluroll showed that, despite the design of the site remaining unchanged for five years, site traffic was still increasing year on year by over 20%. However, patterns of usage had changed, with over 30% of visitors coming from either a mobile device or tablet. Also, increasing levels of consumer traffic were noted, despite Aluroll relying solely on third party distributors and installers for sales. “It seems end consumers are increasingly checking manufacturer websites to inform their purchase decision,” explains Dave Barwick, General Manager at Aluroll. “This, combined with the general increase in tablet and smartphone usage, is meaning more and more visitors are coming from non-PC devices. Our focus is to ensure we provide valuable information across any device and distribute location-based leads from consumer traffic to our trade customers” With the importance of Aluroll’s web presence and digital strategy increasing, the company made the bold decision of creating an inhouse team to design, build and support the new fully responsive website. This decision was made to give greater control and flexibility, but also allow Aluroll to develop digital skills seen as critical for the future. “The website is just the first phase of a greater focus on digital,” says Dave Barwick. “Firstly we wanted to help our trade customers by improving the design and making detailed information for our full range of products, including technical data, easily accessible across any device. The next phase is launching a find your nearest installer service. Future plans under discussion are integration with our order, manufacture and delivery system and a trade knowledge centre.” www.aluroll.co.uk KS02 Key Switch FCP03 Fire Control Panel Repeater Panel RB04 4 Way Group Controller Rollertec Hand Sets Rollertec PCB & Ribbon Cables
