39 THE door industry journal summer 2015 ALPHA DEUREN’S HELIX FAST EXTERNAL DOOR Persons who visited the Alpha stand at the R+T Show in Stuttgart will have witnessed the Helix-Spiral Door - an absolute eye- catcher to say the least. Traditionally, in high frequency external door-openings very often two doors were installed. One secure insulated door to close off at night and one high-speed door-system which is only used during working hours. The new Alpha Helix joins the best of both worlds into one single product. With the Helix / S600 door, Alpha is closing a gap in the market which was not covered by Fast-Action Roller-Door producers. Features and Benefits: • The Helix Spiral Door opens up to 6 times faster as a conventional Sectional Overhead Door. Opening speed up to 1.1 m/s • The unique drive system together with its integrated (pre-assembled) chain in the track-system which results in a simple and quick installation. • Up-to 200,000 cycles and the Helix Spiral Door is spring-less and practically maintenance free. Two models are available: The first is the Helix with classic spiral and as an alternative option, the S600 with a horizontal track-system. Both systems come in sizes up to a maximum of 5000mm x 5000mm on which the safety is guaranteed by a safety light curtain.
