As part of the ongoing product reviews and improvement schedule by Alutech, the SP 77 side lock or end lock (as it’s more commonly known) for the 77mm foam filled lath has been part of this schedule. The Alutech Group are constantly looking to improve their products, from the smallest bolt to the largest extrusion, part of this process is introducing and improving products that save time either in manufacture or installation. So with this in mind, they recognised having end locks that are easier and faster to install than some others in the market place would be beneficial. Part of the re- design is allowing the side lock to be easily inserted into the end of the lath without having to cut out part of the foam which may weaken the lath. Also the improved version as seen below has larger ‘ears’ (just like Dumbo) to help provide further strength to the end lock - in tests it has improved its durability by around 40% than the previous Alutech end lock. End lock with strengthened ‘ears’ that fly more quickly into the lath!!
