Named after the UK’s largest pine forest, the range uses Accoya®. What is Accoya®? Accoya® wood is the result of decades of research and development that has brought together a Long established, extensively proven wood modification technique and leading-edge patented technology – acetylation to create a high performance wood, ideal for outdoor use and challenging applications. Accoya® has properties that match or exceed those of the best tropical hardwoods and treated woods, yet is manufactured using wood from sustainable sources. Already the material of choice for a wide range of demanding outdoor applications, Accoya® wood can be used for virtually anything from decking to cladding, bridges to boats and even for applications that are presently only feasible with non-sustainable and manmade materials... and now Woodrite garage doors. “It’s great to work with, incredibly stable and comes with a ten year warranty on the finish - unique in the garage door industry for a timber product” Accoya® wood has been modified right through to the core and the acetylation process does not weaken the original wood – in fact, its hardness is improved – nor does it compromise its bending strength. As a result Accoya® is also perfect for painted doors as their are no tannins or resins that can leach through the paint finish. The new range comprises of six classic tongue and groove boarded styles that are available in up and over, side hinged and matched personnel doors. For the launch, four wood shades are available: Natural, a clear topcoat, Light Oak, Antique Oak and Burnt Oak, more colours will follow as the range develops to match the more extensive Warwick Idigbo collection of designs. All finishes carry a ten year warranty from our stain supply partners Teknos - equivalent to a finished steel garage door!
