Lockstate are based in Colorado and their most popular product is the Remotelock Wi-Fi connected range of keypad smart locks which enables keyless access without the requirement of a specialist mobile phone app. Unlike most American smart locks on the market, the Remotelock not only comes in a deadbolt but is also available in a lever handle and a mortice version. This is particularly well suited to the UK & European markets and in addition will also work with several multi-point style locks. Lockstate also offer a commercial ‘ACS’ (Access Control Solution) which enables existing electric strike/magnetic lock doors to be connected to the internet and controlled remotely. In addition the ACS allows locks to be grouped providing a unique connected access solution. All Lockstate products are controlled and managed online via smartCONNECT, their cloud based portal. Available on the desktop and as an Android/IOS app, the portal enables property owners to easily create time sensitive codes and control access to all their doors in all their properties all over the world. They can even set up schedules so that doors will lock and unlock automatically. Alerts mean that the owner can be notified when certain codes are used and the History feature keeps a record of all access events. Smart locks are suitable for all kinds of property, from houses, boutique hotels, serviced apartments, hostels, student digs, shared offices to factories, healthcare and of course airbnb. Lockstate were one of the first smart lock companies to integrate with Airbnb’s new Host Assist program, launched at the Airbnb Open conference in Paris, France. Hosts can choose to integrate their Airbnb listings with RemoteLock. When a guest books with a listing that uses Host Assist with a RemoteLock, the booking information is automatically sent to the RemoteLock system, which then creates a code on the lock that will activate when the booking starts, and expire when the guest is scheduled to check out. The guest is sent an email with their access code and instructions. There is no requirement for the host to use the portal, everything is done automatically in the background. Conveniently the host no longer has to coordinate meeting the guests, the guests can simply turn up at any time, enter their unique code and enjoy keyless access for the duration of their stay. No more waiting around, no lost keys and greater convenience for guests. Lockstate is currently setting up an installer/reseller network across Europe.
