Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk 44 THE door industry journal summer 2016 garage doors feature Woodrite – Sectional garage doors are here! “We’ve talked about sectional garage doors for a while, perhaps a little longer than we planned”, smiled Sharon Cleaver, Woodrite’s Sales Director, she continued, “So rather than more talk I thought a few pictures of our first sectional garage door on the build table might make things a little more real!” The images show the first cedar production prototype of Woodrite’s new sectional door and a detail of the panel joint. The range of styles has three strands – horizontal, vertical and Georgian. The Georgian style is built with raised and fielded panels and solid rails. Horizontal and vertical doors are built in two ways; in classic form with solid rails and tongue and groove boards and also as a flat-faced section into which grooves are machined either as a v-groove or square edged groove. This gives total flexibility over the spacing and quantity of the grooves (rather than being limited by available board widths). There will, of course be narrow and wide rib doors, however the scope for more creative and asymmetrical designs is limited only by the idea!
