AIRMISSION PRESSURE WAVE SWITCH WITH WIRELESS SIGNAL TRANSMISSION Bircher Reglomat has been known for its reliable pressure wave technology for many years as well as its wireless radio transmission systems. The AirMission system has been developed for the evaluation and wireless transmission of signals from airwave safety edges (pneumatic) that are used for protection against crushing and entrapment hazards on roller shutters and sliding doors. Pneumatic safety edges are still commonly used on many roller shutter and cold store applications where the control system utilises the closing impact of the edge to initiate a test each cycle of the door. As soon as the closing gate makes contact with a person or an object, the pressure-sensitive edge triggers a signal (by means of pressure wave switch and wireless transfer) so that the door comes to a stop. The AirMission 1.T transmitter is compatible and can be combined with the RF Gate 2.2 and RF Gate 2.1 receivers and with the RF Gate 2.1.W.S wicket door transmitter. IN2 Access and Control’s Director believes: “This new product can be used to eliminate the need for spiral cables on doors still using this technology which are one of the major causes of downtime in the industry.” 66 THE door industry journal summer 2016 Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk industrial doors
