ALUROLL’S T55 SHUTTER SPECIFIED IN WOLVERHAMPTON MARKET REDEVELOPMENT Aluroll security shutters have been used in the transformation of Wolverhampton market. The job involved relocating all of the indoor stalls outdoors, into brightly coloured converted shipping containers. White Circle, who specialise in upcycling the containers, managed the project. They enlisted Aluroll’s help to provide 16 shutters; one for each stall. The unique nature of the job meant overhead space was limited, making the T55 the perfect solution. The containers were various widths, so the shutters ranged from 1.6 to 2.9m wide, all at 2.3m high. They had an anthracite grey finish with matching box and guides - a newly introduced standard feature since the T55 is the security version of the Compact roller garage door. The result was an effective way to increase security for businesses which are commonly unsecured. Aluroll’s shutters also provided peace of mind for retailers concerned about moving outdoors. The Snack Bar Café was based in the indoor market for 19 years before the move. Co-owner Donna Walton said: “For us it’s been much busier outside. It’s been a big change but it’s for the best. We’ve had so many more customers - I think it’s all the passing trade we get out here”. She continued: “At first I was worried whether the business would be more vulnerable being outdoors, but when the council told us we’d have security shutters I felt relieved.
