The shutter was tested in accordance with BSEN 13241- 1:2003+A1:2011 for Manual Operation, Safe Opening and Operating Forces. Fitted with a 500nm Tube Motor on 139mm x 5mm wall tube, the test shutter measured 6500mm Wide x 4000mm High. Managing Director Andrew Crookes said: “It’s important to ensure all roller shutters are manufactured to comply with the latest regulations, so we felt that the only way to genuinely meet these was to have our product tested by an authorised test laboratory. “A lot of roller shutters manufactured and supplied today still don’t comply with the standards, we felt it was important to our customers to be able to have 100% reassurance that the product they purchase from us meet these standards”. Andrew concluded saying: “It is amazing how many people in the industry still believe remote control set to Deadman is an acceptable form of Hold-to-Run”.
