Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk industrial doors and shutters ALLIANCE DOORS AWARDED MAJOR CONTRACT TO SUPPLY DOORS TO LEADING PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY AstraZeneca, a global pharmaceutical company with a major UK presence, whose purpose is to push the boundaries of science to deliver life-changing medicines, has awarded a major contract to Alliance Doors for the supply of multiple doors at their UK manufacturing centre. The doors are being installed in a £120 Million new facility at their manufacturing centre in Macclesfield, Cheshire, to continue production of the cancer medicine Zoladex. The tightly controlled environment in which operates a fully automated conveyor system, transports pallets with a value of over £1M each. Jungheinrich, who provide automotive, logistic, racking and storage solutions on the site approached Alliance Door Engineering after being impressed with the durability of Alliance-manufactured doors on a number of other sites which they provide for. A combination of ‘Cheetah’ rapid roll doors - providing conveyor, vehicular and pedestrian access as well as ensuring maximum energy usage targets were met - and 2hr and 4hr rated fire shutters were installed in the first phase, with further phases planned this year. Doors, which not only provide a durable and compliant solution but also simple and safe means of operation for the user were crucial to Alliance being awarded the contract to design, manufacture and oversea the installation on this site.
