Designing, manufacturing and installing high performance locking solutions for custodial and high security healthcare and government premises, CLCS has been the expert in its field for 200 years. The event, which brought together past and current employees, as well as customers from across its markets, was designed to celebrate 200 years as the industry’s trusted partner. Neil Vann, CEO for ASSA ABLOY UK (Market Region Manager), and Simon Teagle, Managing Director for CLCS, welcomed guests with presentations about their personal history with the company and its future innovation. Guests were then treated to a presentation by renowned local historian Dr. Carl Chinn, who covered CLCS’ and Willenhall’s rich heritage in the locking industry. Speaking after the event, Simon Teagle, said: “We were very pleased with the birthday celebrations and it was great to see so many past and current employees, together with our customers, marking CLCS’ 200th anniversary. “As a business whose success has been largely thanks to its loyal employees and team ethos, it was particularly important to us to bring everyone together to remember our past and celebrate the future.” Despite an impressive history, which includes the Chubb Detector Lock that went unpicked for 33 years, CLCS is already looking toward the future. As part of the ASSA ABLOY group it will continue to invest in product development and work closely with its customers to provide innovative solutions. AlluGuard and Garage Doors South West Collaborate at Paignton Cricket Club The garage door sector isn’t readily associated with the game of cricket but – thanks to an innovative move by a club in the south-west – that is changing! Paignton Cricket Club in Devon recently asked local firm Garage Doors South West to help protect their brand new electronic scoreboard from the weather, as well as stone-throwing vandals. And, as Managing Director Darren Chamberlain explains, his company looked to AlluGuard for the answer: “We’ve been working with AlluGuard for years and they’ve never let us down, so it was the obvious choice to use one of their roller doors to protect the scoreboard,” he explains. “We supplied a door with a white external box and guides, and black curtain - operated on a hold to run keyswitch - which AlluGuard were kind enough to supply at a discounted rate. We passed this saving onto the club and installed the door for free. In return, we’ve got a nice little sponsorship deal – as we have our logo, website and contact details, along with AlluGuard’s logo, across the top box.” AlluGuard Managing Director Gary Brooks says he was happy to help out: “When Darren contacted me about this I thought it was a great idea – and certainly an innovative use of a roller door! So, I was delighted to be involved and help ensure the new scoreboard at Paignton CC remains protected for years to come.”
