As UK distributor for Alutech sectional garage doors JD have built a national network of garage door dealers who supply and install Alutech products. In January this year JD held two very well attended open days which you may have read about in the last issue of the DIJ. On the back of these events the JD sales team have been very busy indeed! So much so that 2018 looks set to be a record year for new Alutech dealers in the UK. So why is it that so many garage door specialists are now starting to offer Alutech products? Louis Wynne, Northern Area Sales Manager for JD (UK) Ltd. thinks he has the answer: “Having now been established in the UK for over 5 years, the Alutech brand is becoming more and more recognised by end users and the door industry. Understandably long- established garage door specialists are reluctant to switch to a new name and it takes time to build a good reputation in the industry. Whenever I get an opportunity to meet with a potential new client I now find they know all about us and have heard positive reports about our products. That just wasn’t the case a few years ago. There has certainly been a lot of talk about Alutech in the industry lately, so it’s great to meet people and show them why our products have become so popular.” JD have announced a series of product improvements over the last few years which all are now implemented on the current door design. These include: • Side extension spring doors up to 4500mm x 2250mm – saving up to 2 hours of installation time when compared to Torsion spring doors. • Alutech Levigato motors – quicker installs and only 120mm total headroom required • Slim-line reveal fitting bracket set with additional frame strengthening support brackets – a feature unique to Alutech • 120mm or 100mm side or head cover profiles • Painted door frames – no cover profiles required for back-fixed doors • Smooth texture frames – more aesthetically pleasing • 525mm panels – all standard height doors are made of 4 or 5 even sized panels • Pre-punched track hanging fixing points – fit a hanger in any position with no fiddly sliding bracket • 100% steel track sections – no plastic weak points • Top panel capping – all top panels are cut at 90 degrees and feature a strengthening top cap • Fully adjustable roller wheels – every bracket on every door is always adjustable • Captive roller wheels – locked in the casting for a safer, stronger installation • Ball bearings in roller wheels – quieter smoother doors • Ball bearing in cable pulley wheels – smoother, quieter and more durable • Reinforced polymer core cables – stronger and longer lasting • Ceramic coated screws – corrosion and tool resistant • Adjustable bottom seal end stops – helps when the floor level causes problems • 1000mm track hangers – available on request • Plastic spring covers – available on request, provide finger trap protection and sound insulation If you do not currently offer Alutech sectional garage doors you can contact the JD (UK) Ltd sales team on 01924 472924 or e-mail sales@jdukltd.co.uk
