Industrial Doors & Shutters Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk Alliance Doors Win Fire Shutter Contract for Greek Airports In 2017 as part of the Greek government’s ambitious privatisation plans they handed over control of 14 regional airports to German airport operator Fraport. Part of their mandate for taking over the management and operations of the airports is for a major upgrading and modernisation, with the projects, undertaken by the company’s subsidiary in Greece, expected to be completed by 2021. As part of the initial project work Alliance were approached by a Greece based trade partner to supply 37 electrically operated 2 Hour and 4 Hour Fire Rated Roller Shutters for installation at Zakynthos International Airport. The shutters are to be installed on numerous applications around the airport facility, including baggage handling areas, retail outlets, canteen serveries etc. Alliance’s fire shutter design allows for an unobtrusive and more aesthetically pleasing product, ideally suited for openings like these where there is need for security and protection from the risk of fire. The major development work, to be implemented over four years, will also include building multiple new passenger terminals at other airports to increase the total capacity and quality of service. Alliance are looking forward to strengthening the relationship with their Greek trade partner and working closely with them on future projects.
