Air ambulance Hundreds of fund-raising cyclists have been successfully returned to their departure point thanks to Garador. Over 550 cyclists left Watchet in North Somerset to ride 54 miles to the South coast, raising money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. They then needed to get back to the north coast to pick up their transport and get home. Garador, with its large capacity trucks and efficient distribution system, was happy to give a hand. It provided huge trucks and drivers for transportation, using their unique trailer and pole system so that the bikes could easily be wheeled into the trailers and firmly secured for the journey. “We were more than happy to assist,” said Garador’s Managing Director Neil Discombe. “The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance plays a vital role in society and it is wonderful that so many cyclists were willing to tackle the challenging route to raise thousands of pounds money for this worthwhile cause.” Find out more at https://www.dsairambulance.org.uk/ D-Day cycle ride Leading British garage door manufacturer Garador also supported a Sussex garage door installer in their quest to raise money during the D-Day 75th anniversary. A team from Garage Door Services in Chichester cycled from a pub in Bognor Regis to Pegasus Bridge in Normandy to raise money for the related All Call Signs charity involved in the well-being of service personnel and veterans. Not only did the team ride old bikes, each worth less than £25, but they all pedalled the distance in full Home Guard Outfits. “We were happy to donate £250 to this very worthy cause,” said Garador’s Managing Director Neil Discombe. “The team from Garage Door Services wanted to raise awareness and support of our veterans from all the armed services and we applaud their efforts.” All Call Signs is a really worthwhile charity, which is helping to support armed service personnel with mental health issues like PTSD, depression and anxiety.
