Representatives explored Somfy’s state-of-the-art research and development, manufacturing, testing, packaging and despatch facilities, located in and around Cluses, between Geneva and Chamonix in the French Alps. Following the initial concept and design stages Somfy products undergo rigorous testing in the fields of longevity, acoustics and performance under a range of temperature and humidity conditions. These stringent initial and ongoing quality checks have allowed Somfy to become a world-leader in the field of automation. The Aluroll team also saw where motor components are manufactured and assembled by hand, then packaged and dispatched to locations across the globe. During the visit Aluroll received a sneak preview of Somfy’s vision for the future of home automation. They watched demonstrations of how their Secureroll garage door can be integrated into the smarthome ecosystem and controlled via mobile app, Alexa or Google Home. Scenarios can also be created, where multiple actions are operated in sync, based on the time of day.
