Falcon’s own brands – Strebord ® and Stredor ® – have been subject to an extensive fire and security testing and product development programme. Following registration to the BM Trada Q Mark Fire and Enhanced Security schemes, four Strebord ® and Stredor ® entrance door systems have been accredited by Secured by Design, the official police security initiative. There are currently two 44mm products and two 54mm products all with half-hour fire resistant door cores and more systems are expected to follow soon. Strebord ® and Stredor ® door cores have passed the industry’s rigorous fire, mechanical thermal and acoustic test standards – all subjected to independent third-party certification – the highest form of endorsement a product can achieve. These ranges are used extensively in the construction and manufacturing industries throughout the world for residential and commercial markets. Falcon has an on-site port facility at Tilbury and strategically located depots in Gateshead, Haydock, High Wycombe, Leeds, Nottingham and West Bromwich to ensure products can be provided to support the most challenging projects with product support and training readily available. Hazel Goss, Development Officer, Secured by Design, said: “Falcon Panel Products have been really keen to join SBD to increase their reach in the marketplace. “They are the first systems house to do timber-based, dual certified fire and security doors. We welcome the company on board and look forward to working with them over the coming months.” Neil Harrison, Falcon’s Door Technical Manager, who is based in Ruthin, Denbighshire, North Wales, said: “Falcon have always developed systems with safety at the forefront. Given the long overdue focus of ensuring compliant fire and security certification for doorsets, becoming members of Secured by Design is a natural progression for us. We look forward to working closely with SBD to have more of our certified solutions included.” Falcon is part of Consolidated Timber Holdings Ltd, a group of companies which import, distribute and process sustainable timber and timber products.
