Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk 30 THE door industry journal summer 2021 Industry News Investment Programme Continues at Garador Leading garage door manufacturer, Garador, is continuing with its investment programme to improve the quality of its production machinery and the products in its range. Over the last six months, the company has pushed ahead with its plans to invest in important areas of the business, from production through to new product development. The Yeovil based manufacturer has continued its investment in plant and infrastructure with upgrades to the company’s loading bays and the installation of new dock levellers that will improve the efficiency of Garador’s day-to-day operations. The dock levellers offer a practical way to level the difference between the warehouse floor and a docked vehicle, so the loading bay team can work without hindrance to transfer garage doors onto the delivery vehicles ready for despatch. One of the most recent developments include upgrades to Garador’s side- hinged production area, with investment in new machinery and tooling to produce a much better product. The new product involves a more intricate build process than its predecessor, with enhanced features such as rubber weather seals, a 2-point locking system and concealed hinges. A number of new tools and jigs were required to construct the new design, as well as a well-organised storage system for components. The most recent phase in the programme of investment has been the installation of two new transformers in the Northwest corner of the production facility. This new equipment has been installed to step up power for the company’s production machinery. The overall aim of this installation is to continue to improve productivity within the plant.
