Door Industry Journal - Summer 2021

Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk Industry News Entry and exit inputs can be programmed to either ‘normally open’ or ‘normally closed’ settings. (see figure 2) A recent example involves a customer that needed to control vehicles using a two-way single lane road that leads to a fork with one lane going to an above-ground car park and the other lane going into an underground car park. The solution involved using vehicle loop detectors at each of the car park entrances/exits. When a vehicle approaches either of the exits, all three traffic lights coordinate to only allow one vehicle to use the road at a time. If a vehicle exits the main road and is heading towards either car park, those lights remain red for a period of time to allow the car to enter. “This particular controller allowed us to provide a simple solution to suit our customer’s requirements,” said Derek. Additional boards are available that can control four or five traffic lights if the application requires it. “We’ve had customers contact us with rather interesting layouts, and I’m glad we’ve been able to provide a safety solution that works for them. These control boards allow for more bespoke options for our customers,” Derek concludes. For details on any of the products listed, visit www.in2access.co.uk .
