Somfy Appoints Elliot Webb as Key Account Manager for the UK and Northern Ireland Smart Home specialist adds to its senior leadership team with a renewed focus on residential and industrial garage doors. Connected home specialist, Somfy, has recently announced the appointment of Elliot Webb as Key Account Manager overseeing the company’s UK and Northern Ireland operations. Elliot joins the senior management team during a crucial period of growth and opportunity at Somfy, as individuals and businesses focus their attention on optimising their home and workspaces due to the pandemic. Elliot will manage and oversee Somfy’s interest in the residential and industrial garage doors, implementing new sales strategies while directly supporting key customers within the UK and NI. Elliot has worked with Somfy since 2018 when he was appointed as Regional Sales Manager in the southwest for interior window coverings. During his tenure as Regional Sales Manager, Elliot managed a variety of small to medium-sized business customers spanning manufacturers and retailers. Before joining Somfy, Elliot worked his way up the ranks at car rental service, Enterprise, starting as a trainee manager as part of a graduate scheme before eventually managing one of the firm’s largest branches in the south of England. Commenting on his new appointment, Elliot said: “I made the decision to move to Somfy in 2018 because it seemed like a business that would allow me to grow personally and professionally, and that’s certainly been the case. The residential access market is ripe for automation and motorisation, both of which add endless value in terms of convenience and security to customers, and I’m thrilled to play a key role in getting that technology out there to manufacturers and retailers.” He continued: “The UK market is very different to other European markets. We may be a small country geographically, but the potential for growth in the smart home and automation space is huge. The smart home space is developing rapidly, and I believe that interest in standalone apps that control individual devices is now being superseded by multi-functional connected solutions that encompass all elements of the home, from lighting and shading to the opening and closing of a garage door.” The appointment comes following the company’s recent strategic transformation dubbed Ambition 2030, which looks to create value in all aspects of connected living to become the number one automation partner for manufacturers and retailers.
