Door Industry Journal - Summer 2021

THE door industry journal summer 2021 Domestic Garage Doors Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk Woodrite’s New Price List & Brochure Woodrite has introduced a new brochure and price list. The price list, effective from June the 1st is Woodrite’s first price increase for 4 years. Quite an achievement, given the volatility of the market over that period. “We’ve worked so hard to provide our customers with stable pricing, but the huge and ongoing spike in demand for timber of all types has forced costs upwards and beyond the point, we can absorb rises. We have endeavoured to keep this price increase to the minimum, but such is the scale of our product offering and in many specific timbers and finishes, we have had to account for these pressures individually by product and material type. Therefore, we have raised prices on some ranges more than others.” Commented Sharon Cleaver, Woodrite’s Sales Director. Good news on value Sharon continued, “the good news is that given this is our first increase for several years, the new prices remain competitive in the current market. Competitive means we are comparable in price to others, but that’s where the similarity ends. We can confidently state that the build quality, materials and finishing are, by some margin, the best in the industry, making our value proposition unsurpassed by any other manufacturer. Not just ‘good with wood’ but ‘the best with wood!’ Unrivalled range Taking a look at the new range brochure certainly confirms Sharon’s claims; the ranges cover four timber types, • Cedar , the most familiar and a relatively lightweight softwood, Cedar lends itself perfectly to garage doors. • Idigbo , a beautiful, certified hardwood, that looks very similar to oak yet is more stable for boarded and raised and fielded designs. • Oak , of which little needs to be said - it’s just so special but limited in sizes and to simpler designs by its weight. • Accoya ® a relatively new timber that uses a ‘super-technology’ treatment process that acetylates the wood making it incredibly stable and able to outperform most hardwoods. ‘A warranty we stand by…’ Every door is available fully finished and has up to a 5-year warranty on the finish (subject to the usual, sensible maintenance requirements) for Cedar, Oak and Idigbo, extending to 10 years for Accoya ® . “We stand by our warranties. The way we finish our doors, individually dipped boards, sealed ledges and our coatings from Teknos means we just don’t see any warranty issues. If you do it right, timber can be protected, and we know we do it right!” Added Sharon. ‘fastman-built’ ranges on a 3-4 week delivery. In the current climate, long lead times can damage sales. To keep the product available, Woodrite has a quick turnaround solution – the Cedar Somerset and Buckingham panel-built Masta-Gear door ranges. There’s no sacrificing quality – Woodrite uses the same tried and tested joinery skills but has changed its usual description of craftsman-built to fastman-built! The door is built as a panel and Masta-Gear chassis mounted, to give a lead-time of 3-4 weeks, dependent on delivery cycles. The quick delivery is not limited to base-coated doors but is available across the complete range of fully- finished woodtones from light oak to slate grey.
