The strategy was ambitious and spread across all aspects of the business; the Rotherham site, manufacturing processes, business systems, product developments and people. Here’s their report! PEOPLE – The task: create the best Customer Service team – Tick! The arrival of Ian Hetherington as Commercial Director earlier in the year has brought real momentum to Customer Services. The office team, headed by Scot Smaldon, has firmly put the focus on keeping information flowing and external sales now have a new name to complete the team – Matthew Berry. Matthew Berry, National Sales Manager - Matthew heads AlluGuard’s external sales function and brings a wealth of garage door industry experience. Matthew is looking forward to getting to know Customers’ businesses and matching Customer needs to our products and services. Call Matthew on 07740 176 104. Email Matthew on: m.berry@alluguard.co.uk SYSTEMS – The task: make it easier for Customers – Tick! Libretto, AlluGuard’s newly implemented materials and resource planning system, is providing real-time visibility of order progress that translates into real-time support for customers. “It’s great to have the things at our fingertips to give our customers the information they need to plan their installs” commented Scot Smaldon, Customer Service Manager. Already in the testing and soft launch phase is the next piece in the systems’ jigsaw – online ordering. The new system will allow customers to place orders at their convenience – during office hours or outside, whenever works. The ordering system is intelligent and guides customers through the product specification, making sure all the necessary elements are selected. Intelligence ensures the specification is possible and makes it so quick and easy to place orders. The result is time saved and greater accuracy. Orders jump straight into our production system with no rekeying so the interval between order and customers receiving an acknowledgement and delivery date will reduce dramatically. Customers can track order progress through the ordering portal 24-7 making install planning easy. ROTHERHAM & PRODUCTION – The task: develop the site & streamline production – Tick! The site at Rotherham is seeing many positive changes. Production and stockholding have been completely reorganised to introduce efficiencies and extra capacity. The result, more doors made in less time all under the watchful eye of Factory Manager, Nigel Slater - “Production is running well; quality is high, we’re geared to allow more volume and there are more process improvements to come...” The office, training and showroom developments are designed, we’re just waiting for building to commence – builders are in high demand, so we’ll update you on progress soon! PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT – The task: never stand still – offer more, make it better – Tick! In a few short months, we’ve really pulled out all the stops to evolve the product offering. The new AlluGuard 55, our compact door, is in production. A stronger barrel, stronger locking straps and an extended colour range add up to a best-in-class door for those tight install situations. Ian Hetherington had this to say: “I really love the new 55 doors, Ian Hetherington, Commercial Director Matthew Berry, National Sales Manager Nigel Slater, Factory Manager
