BFT first launched in the UK when its North office in Stockport opened in 2004. The Swindon site, previously referred to as BFT Automation South, followed in 2007 as a separate company. As a merged organisation, BFT is now offering a seamless service to its customers, regardless of where they’re based in the country. Building on BFT’s strong reputation for customer service, the merger means there are more team members available to answer calls in the technical department, so accessing support will be quicker than before. The phone lines are now open from 8 am-5:30 pm. Teams across the company have full visibility of stock in both the Stockport and Swindon warehouses, providing enhanced access to BFT’s range of automation products, which include swing and slide gate operators, automatic barriers and bollards. Both distribution centres are regularly replenished with new shipments from its global headquarters in Italy, including fast-moving items such as its full range of automated gate motors. Kevin Spinks, Managing Director said: “We know from our annual customer survey that installers value the quality and reliability of our products and we’ve long been known as a company that offers more than just a manual when it comes to support,” “We’re delighted that the merger will offer our customers across the country even quicker access to technical assistance when they need it and to be able to fulfil their orders even more efficiently by using both warehouses in tandem. “As the merger has also given us the chance to restructure our training provision with a new dedicated Training Manager, we’re also able to offer installers a greater level of tailored support than ever before.” Within easy reach of major road networks, BFT’s Stockport office is a five-minute drive from Junction 1 on the M60, while the Swindon office is five minutes from Junction 15 of the M4. Both the Stockport and Swindon branches have trade counters where customers can collect orders or buy items directly. Open during office hours, the counters are conveniently located next to loading areas. To further boost the company’s accessibility, BFT customers are now able to place orders via its website, where there are also support guides and resources to help them choose which products are likely to work best for their projects. This includes videos on specific products and accessories, including the company’s range of automated anti-terrorism bollards. BFT Automation is part of the Somfy Group.
