CAME designs and produces high-quality technological products and solutions for the comfort and security of people in residential, public and business environments. Founded in 1972, CAME was established by a group of passionate people who aspired to create innovative solutions to meet people’s needs. Since then, the company has grown and strengthened its distribution capacity, expanded its product offerings and evolved its business model by opening branches worldwide. They also brought other like-minded companies into the CAME Group, including fellow Secured by Design members CAME Entrotec and CAME KMS. CAME UK has two electronic door entry products which have achieved Police Preferred Specifications – the MTM VR Enclosure and the MTM VRM Enclosure. The MTM VR is a modular door entry panel manufactured from vandal-resistant composite Zamak and the MTM VRM is a stainless steel, vandal-resistant door entry panel with IP65-rated crush-proof buttons. Both models feature shock-proof buttons and security screws for increased security. Mark Kurland, Sales Director of CAME UK, said: “As always, CAME is extremely pleased to demonstrate our support for Secured by Design by upholding the security standards delivered through our MTM products. “Renewing our membership provides an opportunity to showcase the steps we take annually as a manufacturer to ensure our products meet the required specifications and help our customers design out crime in their developments. We are incredibly proud to reaffirm our support for Secured by Design to the industry.” Ruari Robertson, Secured by Design, commented: “I am thrilled that CAME has renewed their membership of Secured by Design for a further three years. Their desire to maintain membership clearly shows the strong reputation that it holds within the industry.” You can find out more about CAME UK and its Secured by Design accredited products on its dedicated member page. Secured by Design (SBD) is owned by the UK Police Service and aims to reduce crime and increase safety for businesses and individuals. SBD seeks to improve the physical security of buildings and the surrounding area using products such as doors, windows, locks, walling systems and fencing systems that meet the SBD Police Preferred Specification security requirements. SBD has many partner organisations, ranging from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers and it works closely with standards and certification bodies. SBD is the only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK through the Police Preferred Specification - a product-based accreditation scheme developed 25 years ago, which provides a recognised standard for all security products that effectively deter and reduce crime. SBD work with manufacturers and standards authorities to ensure that security standards are current and updated to keep pace with emerging crime trends.
