ALU:K is part of the Door & Automation Trade Centre group which also encompasses RBS Electronics, which supplies radio controls, surveillance systems and gate equipment. James says “Our philosophy in supplying customers is giving good products at competitive prices along with honest delivery times, sometimes it’s better to give the customer a straight answer from the start rather than delay and hope for the best, as this only causes frustration for all parties when deadlines are not met and is not conducive for a good and healthy working partnership. Having Jason & Rob (formerly of Novoferm Europe Ltd) onboard gives us a wealth of knowledge from within the industry to enable us to offer our quality products at competitive prices.” ALU:K offers a high specification of door using component parts from Europe’s leading suppliers including the Alutech Group of Companies featured on page 27. All products are CE marked and independently tested to the latest EN standard 13241-1 by Exova (Warrington), but without the high specification price. All doors come as standard with the following; • Full box (to cover entrapment legislation) • Safety brake (to cover motor failure legislation) • Safety edge ( to cover closing force legislation) • Large bottom seal (to accommodate less forgiving floor levels) • Fully built up box and barrel (for quicker installation) • Easy detachable connection in control box for motor and safety edge • Robust and durable packaging • In -house transportation of doors All ALU:K doors are also fitted with the unique profiled aluminium barrel and retainer profile which offers greater rolling properties as well as the added bonus of NO PLASTIC LOCKING STRAP to break. This system also reduces the marking of the curtain which is sometimes attributed to the widely used locking strap systems often used by others. ALU:K have worked really hard to get the packaging right, this is to avoid transportation damage, they also supply doors with the barrel assembled which makes the installation much quicker, the fitting process is four steps, mount the box on the guides, fit to the opening, hang the curtain then wire in and commission it really is that easy. ALU:K is proud to offer full in-house training to all garage door specialists. For more information and contact details, see their advertisement opposite. 24 THE door industry journal winter 2012
