The RTS 85 has always carried successful Independent Third Party Type Testing to BS EN 1154 (the harmonised European Standard for Controlled Door Closing Devices). The addition of CE certification further highlights the quality and performance of the DORMA’s transom closer and offers architects, specifiers, and clients peace of mind that it meets exceptional manufacturing standards. The CE Marking enables suppliers and installers of the RTS 85 to demonstrate its compliance with the Construction Products Regulations and UK Building Regulation. Available in sizes EN3, EN4 and EN5, the RTS 85 is suitable for doors up to 1250mm wide. As it also includes a mechanical backcheck which cushions the door on opening at 90 degrees, this reduces potential damage to the door and its surroundings to further enhance long term performance and eliminate unnecessary wear and tear that would otherwise be incurred. A full range of accessories are also available, including side load, end load and Anti- Finger Trap Arms along with Adjustable Floor and Threshold Pivots and are all included within the Test Certification. Having grown out of a family business set up in the heartland of the British lock-making industry, UNION intends to maintain its traditional retrofit offering - for which it has become so well known - despite broadening and re- launching its mortice lock range. Known for its heritage, traditional brass componentry and depth of product offering, the Classic range provides a solution for almost all retrofit applications. Featuring specialist cases, the Classic range is popular with architectural ironmongers and their customers thanks to the quality and durability with which UNION is synonymous. Karen Hubbard, Product Manager for UNION, said: “The broadening of our product offering represents an exciting time for both UNION and its customers, but it is important we maintain those products our architectural ironmongery customers have come to rely on and expect from UNION - helping them to better service their customers’ needs. “Whilst it is imperative for us as a brand to continue to grow and offer solutions to a wider base of customers, it is hugely important for us to preserve our loyal and knowledgeable customer base, who have helped to make UNION the brand it is today.” The UNION Classic range is available alongside the UNION C Series, which caters to high security project specifications.
