Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk industry news HÖRMANN COMPLETE COAST-TO-COAST CHARITY RIDE David Newcombe, the managing director of Hörmann (UK) Ltd, has completed a gruelling coast to coast cycle ride with four fellow cyclists, raising over £4,500. These funds are to be shared between two charities, Cancer Research UK and The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance service. The 580 mile journey, planned by Hörmann’s Transport Manager Mick Dunne, took the team from one of the westernmost points of the British Isles, Slea Head on the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry, to the most easterly point at Lowestoft in Suffolk. After completing the event David Newcombe was quick to thank all the teams sponsors and supporters who have donated so much. He also added, “It is great to see the donations we have received from the door industry, it is very much appreciated and its good to have such support for two very important charities.” The same team previously cycled 833 miles south to north from Lizard Point in Cornwall to Dunnet Head in Scotland. This time three countries and a sea were crossed thanks to the generous support of, Hörmann (UK) Ltd, Stephen Sanderson Transport, Exodus Financial Services and Languard Vegetation Management Specialists.
