10 THE door industry journal winter 2015 industry news Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk ALUTECH INVEST IN FUTURE PROOF MANUFACTURING Alutech have recently completed a $75m (£50m) manufacturing unit near their head office in Minsk Belarus. Building work commenced back in 2012 and was completed in early 2015. The factory has been specifically designed and laid out for sectional door manufacturing, with a planned production capacity of 240,000 doors per year and covering an area of 50,000m Sq. Up to the date technology is at the heart of the factory, for example the sandwich panel machine requires only 2 operatives to oversee this process, everything else is automated. The choice of machines to manufacture and finish the panel making machine was paramount! Alutech chose the leading German manufacturers of HENNECKE machine for the production of the sandwich panel and KRAFT for their finished door leaf machine. The HENNECKE machine can produce up to 4, 500,000 metres of panel a year, which is enough to circumvent the earth!! Once the panels have been manufactured an automated conveyor system moves them into the storage area which holds up to 230,000 meters of panels, this process is again a high-tech fully automated stacking and holding system. The fully automated system then picks the specific panels from the storage facility, and by conveyor takes then to the KRAFT finishing machine to be cut to size fitted with hinges and for any options such as cut outs for windows and handles to be created.
